Erphele only works if you can hand it your real life. So we built it to earn that.

Why we built Erphele
We wanted an assistant that actually knows us, one we could trust with our tasks, our notes, the people in our lives, the half-formed thoughts we'd never paste into a chatbot. That only works if the trust is real. An assistant that knows you is also one you're handing your life to, so privacy has to come first.
So we made a simple rule: your data is yours. Erphele uses it to help you, and for nothing else. We don't sell it. We don't train models on it. We don't quietly mine it. And we don't make you read a policy to find that out. You can see and delete everything Erphele remembers, right inside the app.
Private by default
Erphele is proactive: it reaches out, remembers, and acts on your behalf. That only feels good if it never feels creepy. So Erphele shows you what it did and why, lets you see and edit what it remembers about you, and respects when you tell it to back off. When you want a conversation to leave no trace, start a temporary chat. It isn't kept, and the reply is generated under zero-data-retention flags (one small routing step is not; the privacy policy says exactly which).
Powerful, with your hand on the switch
The further Erphele can reach, like publishing sites or running commands on your own computer, the more explicit your control becomes. Nothing touches your machine without a paired device, a fresh identity check, and your approval for anything with side effects; every command is logged where you can see it, and one switch turns it all off.
The same for everyone
A student's notes, a clinician's study material, a founder's strategy: they all get the exact same encryption, isolation, and AI handling. Erphele is a personal assistant rather than a certified system of record, so it isn't a substitute for the regulated tools a workplace requires, but the protection itself never changes based on who you are or what you keep here.
Holding ourselves to it
We follow the practices on our Security page today, and we're investing in formal assurances (like SOC 2) as we grow. Our service health is measured continuously and published live, uptime history and incidents included, at status.erphele.com. If we ever fall short, we'll tell you plainly and fix it fast.
